Scope

Wisconsin Wetlands Association (“WWA”) recognizes that as part of its activities, it collects information from members and others that may be considered to be confidential or protected. This Privacy Policy identifies WWA’s privacy protection practices for confidential personal information voluntarily submitted to WWA. This Privacy Policy applies to the collection, use, sharing, and protection of Confidential Personal Information.

Collection, Use and Sharing of Confidential Personal Information

Confidential Personal Information is information that relates to you and identifies or can be used to identify you. This information includes, by way of illustration and not limitation, your name, billing address, credit card number, bank account number, and email address. WWA may collect Confidential Personal Information for those purposes specified in this Privacy Policy, and as otherwise permitted by law. We may collect Confidential Personal Information through our Web site, at our office, over the phone, or by email. You may choose to provide this information to us through a number of interactions, such as

  • Requesting information or services from us;
  • Participating in a WWA-sponsored event or activity;

  • Joining as a member or making a donation; or
  • Applying for a job or other application.

As part of network operations and when you visit the WWA website, we may automatically collect certain information such as your domain type, your IP address, your referring website page, and click stream information to gauge the effectiveness of our website, track users’ movement through the site, gather broad demographic information, and otherwise administer our site. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. If you donate to or purchase from WWA, the Confidential Personal Information you provide may include without limitation your name, address, email address, credit card, and billing information, which we or an authorized third party on our behalf will collect and/or use to process your donation payment.

If you join or donate to WWA online, you will receive our regular communications as described on the sign-up form.  If you wish to subscribe to our email newsletter, we request contact information, including name and email address. You may opt out of receiving these communications by contacting us.

WWA uses your Confidential Personal Information to respond to you regarding the reasons you contacted WWA, and to provide requested information. Unless you request otherwise, we may contact you via email or other communications in the future to inform you about wetland news, issues, and opportunities to support WWA.

WWA will not sell Confidential Personal Information we have collected about you.  WWA reserves the right to share information that has been anonymized or aggregated in a manner that renders it unidentifiable with you, to third parties in conjunction with the work and activities of WWA. WWA also, from time to time, shares portions of its membership list with other non-profit groups with kindred missions. If you would like your name excluded from these shares you can contact us.

Our web site and other communications may contain links to other sites. WWA is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites or organizations. WWA encourages users of our website to be take appropriate precautions when leaving our website for other sites.

WWA takes reasonable measures to assure that the Confidential Personal Information we use about you is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. We make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your Confidential Personal Information either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. Individuals who wish to review and/or edit their Confidential Personal Information may do so by contacting us by email or telephone during regular business hours.

WWA takes reasonable security safeguards to protect against such risks as loss or unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure of Confidential Personal Information. We generally restrict access to Confidential Personal Information to WWA employees and persons retained to assist in the operation of our website and other communications.
