Wisconsin Wetlands Association’s legislative proposal recommending funding for flood risk reduction demonstration projects has moved another step closer to enactment.
The proposal has already cleared committees in the Senate and has now moved to the Assembly as AB266 with a hearing scheduled before the Committee on Rural Development.
The hearing is Thursday, August 15th, at 10:30 am in room 417 North (GAR Hall).
Wisconsin Wetlands Association (WWA) will appear at the hearing to provide background on our recommendation for the proposed demonstration projects and to speak to how reestablishing wetland and floodplain storage can help reduce flooding, protect public infrastructure, and improve watershed health.
